"It’s always the same wish. Every candle. Every time. I want a life I never want to take a vacation from. That’s my goal."

5+++/5 stars
Read twice and I stand by everything I said in this review again!

WOW! What more can I say?
This was truly a wonderful read and I loved every single second of it. I honestly did not think I could possibly enjoy this as much as I did.

This novel basically revolves around Jordan, a nineteen-year-old girl whose boyfriend is named Cole, also a nineteen-year-old who acts very irresponsibly. Amid this, she meets a man who grabs her attention; a thirty-eight-year-old guy named Pike... Who just happens to be her boyfriend's father.

Both Pike and Jordan are amazing! Pike is officially my first ever fictional crush, and Jordan is just the sweetest little human being ever. I was literally balling my eyes out at the thought of anything going wrong between the two of them. I was truly invested in the story and I cannot say anything other than positive words.

I hope every book I read will be as enjoyable as this one and I cannot wait to read more taboo romance and more books by this author!

“Um, okay, here’s the thing…. I realize things were probably a little different back when you were a teenager—EIGHTY-NINE YEARS AGO!—” she fires back.
“It was twenty, thank you.”
“But nowadays,” she keeps going, “we don’t hold a woman responsible for a man’s behavior.”

The only novel that I have read over three times, and I am certain that I will continue doing so.

Birthday Girl has literally been engraved in my brain! I was not certain of this until I began confusing scenes from this to a movie, which of course does not exist. It is extremely easy to visualize the scenes in this novel, and I cannot speak more highly, other than stating that this is utterperfection! Additionally, chapter 28 gets me every time; it is so emotional and adorable, and I am OBSESSED with Pike and Jordan!!!
This is definitely not my last read!

"He looks at me, his dark sandalwood eyes almost amused. “They’re my sisters,” he says.
I bite back my smile and focus on my work again. Sure. If those are his sisters, then I’m his mom."
