Rivers of London Vol. 2: Night Witch by Andrew Cartmel, Ben Aaronovitch

3.0

This is the 2nd graphic novel to accompany the Peter Grant series by Aaronovitch & occurs between books five and six . Make sure to pick up this copy as it contains the entire story, Vol 6-10. While the first graphic novel was much more straight forward plot-wise, this one has more of the twists & turns I've come to expect from Aaronovitch's writing. It starts out w/ a child being kidnapped by a supernatural woodland creature then is complicated by Russian witches, Russian thugs, more kidnappings, and forces pulling Peter Grant in opposite directions. Do the parents want their child's kidnapping to even be solved? Sound complicated? Sure. But it's fun & a quick read. I think Aaronovitch is starting to learn how to use graphic novels as a medium to tell his stories. Some of his humor, which I love, managed to peek through in this one. I'm looking forward to seeing if he continues to grow as an author of graphic novels once his Rivers of London:Black Mould is finished & bound into one volume.
