The Last Girl: My Story of Captivity, and My Fight Against the Islamic State by Nadia Murad

5.0

Nadia’s story is horrible, one of destruction and heartbreak, torture and rape. But most of all, her story is one of hope. One of survival and strength in the face of terrorism. She asks us all to face the reality of extremism and fundamentalism in the Middle East, and to bring the members of these groups to justice. What she has endured is not unique. Thousands and thousand of her people, our people, human beings, are being massacred and raped and tortured for the simple fact that they won’t convert to ISIS’s twisted interpretation of Islam. Her telling is heartbreaking and terrible, but it’s a story I think everyone should read. She is an inspiration to everyone. Thank you, Nadia.
