On Juneteenth by Annette Gordon-Reed

4.0

A very solid, brief history of race and significant historical events in Texas, many of which are told through a lens slightly different that what is taught in schools.

I really liked this book, but the title “On Juneteenth” is a bit misleading. Most of the book deals in other ancillary topics and events, but it is still great nonetheless!
