Accidental Attachment by Max Monroe
DNFed at 40 percent… because I read 250 pages and absolutely nothing happened. This book needed a good edit for brevity, and I love Max Monroe so this isn’t easy for me to write.
There were entire scenes of the two main characters doing such mundane things - like walking thru Central Park - and the only reasoning I could find was to do a quick character cameo from one of their other books. And through the 250 pages, I can say I do not like the FMC and have no concept of depth for the MMC.
On top of that (not to pile on, but I was SO looking forward to this book) the comedy was super forced. “Jokes” were inserted into every single sentence. So when you got to big laughs they were less poignant.
Probably my most disappointing DNF of the year so far.
