Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman

4.0

Wow... where to start... there is so much happening in this exploration of human decision-making that it seems a miracle to have finally reached the end. There is no doubt of Kahneman’s brilliance and expertise, but that comes at the cost of readability. This book demands your attention and patience, and is an extremely slow burn to place of greater understanding and insight into our behavior each and every day. I found myself increasingly more aware of the choices I make each day as I progressed through the book, but I’m still left wondering “so what?” in a practical sense. I look forward to reading Nudge and/or The Undoing Project in the near future to help put this topic into clearer context, but right now I feel like I just need a break after working through this book.
