started the book several times and kept getting bored, finally finished and was left disappointed. following the life of Jane was dull, the final few chapters were good but do not make up for the book as a whole. Jane doesn’t change much from the beginning to the end, from 8 to 30 years old it seems she stays the same. didn’t feel like a romance or a story of about finding your way in the world. interesting that the author draws on some of her own childhood experiences and eye opening on the life of an orphan in the 1800’s. wouldn’t recommend.
