I really enjoyed book 1 of this series and book 2 definitely added layers but ended on quite the cliffhanger. I don't want to spoil the plot but we see Adrian and Sage grow in their abilities and now they must contend with a counsel of mages.

I loved the expanded story on Salino and how he is connected to Sage and Adrian. This book was action packed with 4 different cases going on all at once but it was never overwhelming.

Overall enjoyable and can't wait for the next book in the series.
