Crooked Kingdom, by Leigh Bardugo

5.0

This book was so well written and the cast of the Dregs kept me on my toes with every plan and deceit. There were many times I was on the edge of my seat or crying with the characters and I realised that Bardugo did it again. She was able to weave so much into her characters to the point that I emphasise and love them all, even Pekka Rollins. Props to her writing skills because 1 thing I value more than plot is good, nuanced characters. Add a few heist jobs and conniving thieves and you have me hooked. The last 150 pages certainly were by no means slow however there were some stagnant points but I found that my love for the characters kept me going. The development and experiences of my children in the Dregs had me hoping they'd all come out safe and that would have been the case had Leigh not ripped my heart out in Chapter 38, 39 and 40...
