The Blight of Muirwood, by Jeff Wheeler

Did not finish book. Stopped at 57%.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. I am actually quite angry about this. The first half was so much better than the The Wretched of Muirwood. The pacing and the plot were really good and interesting, but it all changed at the halfway point. The religious motives were really off-putting, like many reviewers already pointed out. I actually have no clue what kind of religion "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" is, but that didn't matter since religion is so prominent. You can't help but notice it and it really pulls you out of the story. Colvin was also really annoying throughout the book. At first I thought his character would develope, but then he behaves like an absolute misogynist when
Spoiler Lia thought he would marry her.
There were some comments that rubbed me the wrong way. How Lia is more powerful and that bothers him. Like? Sexist much. The nail in the coffins was the fact that the main villain is a woman who only recruits women into her little evil clan or whatever. It was repulsive.
