The Angel’s Game features more mystery and murder in the Spanish literary world. This is a prequel to The Shadow of the Wind and while it shares the same ingredients - romance, tragedy, concealed identities, obsession, the power of books, secrets, the dark, gothic environment - it didn’t enchant me quite as much. Possibly it simply lacked the wow factor of being my first encounter with the writer, his style and the world he created?
Graphic: Violence
Moderate: Drug use and Murder
