This was a good book. Taken place in the same universe as the Black Dagger Brotherhood world, this is about Lydia who loves protecting wolves and finds out they are being poisoned by the hotel owners. Now there are murders and mysterious guy Daniel is hiding something. First I have to say that you might want to read the Black Dagger Brotherhood books as it would be easier to understand the story and the characters. Some people might be fine with it but the reason the stars got dropped was that I didn't understand some chapters and the world as much. I do have to say that the writing was well done with a great plot, pacing, and story structure but I wish I knew the world more so I could have been hooked all the way into the story.

I enjoyed the main character Lydia who is brave and is passionate about wolves. She had good character development and more to come in future novels. My favorite part of the book was Daniel because omg was he HOT. He didn't really have a character development but I think there will be in the future books. There were a lot of side characters in this book but sadly they weren't described well and I figured out why which was because they were from the other series. I felt left out in the story as I only knew about the new characters and not what the side characters were talking about. Now the romance which was a slow burn trope. I enjoyed the steamy romance in this book and I loved the steamy scenes!

Now with the ending, it ended in a CLIFFHANGER!!! I haven't read any books with a cliffhanger in a long time! I wish I could rate this book higher because the parts I understood were good but tbh I mostly didn't understand the story. I wish in the summary it was notified to readers that they should read the Black Dagger Brotherhood series first. Most stars were just lost to being lost but I will be reading the other books first and then rereading this one at one point in my life.
