"You are the kindest person I know. In a sea of angry, hateful faces, you were the first person to show me compassion when I was new and frightened. Do not doubt yourself because of the hateful rhetoric Raphael spews."
Four years Theo has spent her life repenting for being a demon at St. Mary's Assimilation School for Wayward Souls under the harsh observation of an Archangel who has it out for her. Each day she must remind herself only one more year and she is free. Free from the punishment, the suppression of her magic, from him. But the arrival of a wrongly accused Angel might derail all her plans. As much as she tries, she cannot avoid the little cherub, and after all these years she might succumb to sin after all.
An incredibly fast but haunting, beautiful, and hot read. Forbidden romance is my absolute favorite and make it sapphic between a demon and an angel? I am hooked. The friendship that slowly builds to a relationship is sweet and I love how protective Theo is of Esther. There were some moments I wish I could reach through the pages and save them from what was happening, and they might be a huge trigger if you have endured any religious trauma.
"Are you going to be mine, angel? You going to be so good for me?"
There is a HEA, but I hope that we see more of this world and of these two.
