What a unique story-telling experience. Compelling and heart-breaking, we are taken through the heartache and pains of a 5-year-old boy and his mom who are trapped in a trafficking situation.

The story is told through the perspective of the child, so the narrative is told by a 5-year-old. It took me a while to get used to this at the beginning, but once I was, I couldn't put the book down.

The attention to detail was extremely realistic and made the story that much more real. The events that took place were hard to comprehend but completely traumatic. It goes through the beginning, the living in captivity, the escape, the aftercare, and the future of these two people and the reality of being kidnapped and then thrown back into the real world after 7 years.

Truly heartbreaking and eye-opening to realize this book is a reality and things like this happen everyday in plain sight.
