The Gone Dead by Chanelle Benz
4.0
I expected more of a mystery, but really enjoyed what this book turned out to be.
One sentence synopsis: Billie returns to the Mississippi home where her father had a fatal "accident" 30-something years ago.
It is haunting that many of the themes (race, truth, honor) discussed in this work through events in the 1960s and 70s are increasingly relevant today.
