Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits by David Wong

2.0

There was just the one fancy suit. The violence was only futuristic if you're not used to reading actual science fiction. I guess.

This is not the Wong of John and David Get Up to Stuff in a disgusting, hilarious way. This is Wong, editor of Cracked, super-cereal about Making a Point. About what, I'm not sure. There's some feminism in there, for sure. Main character Zoe is what Wong seems to think women think is relateable. To that end there's little description of her, other than that she's short, has large breasts, and dark hair with blue streaks in her bangs. She's a cat lady in training, really likes basketball and is Over Your Shit. Take that, patriarchy! There's also some kind of political critique, but I can't figure out if it's pro- or anti-libertarian or Libertarian or if maybe he got a bit ahead of himself and wanted to go full Anarcho-Capitalist and all his fight and bluster just gave out while he was working on the technicalities of "futuristic" part of futuristic violence.

As works go, there were some great secondary characters. I'd love to read more about Will and Andre.

I laughed out loud a few times. And I was curious about a few of the twists. In the end, though, not recommended.
