House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas

3.0

Overall, I enjoyed the read, but it very much felt like 600 pages of (albeit mostly interesting) plot filler followed by THINGS ACTUALLY HAPPENING in the final fifty pages. As always I enjoyed getting to know more about Maas’ secondary characters, Ruhn in particular, but also Ithan. Have to admit Tharion was not a strong point for me though, and the continuing secret reveals about Danika really just felt like a convenient way of introducing new plot points.
The ending… was pretty impressed by it when first reading, but on reflection I’m not sure how much I really want to read about that plot line in this story. Am very interested to see what Maas does with it in book 3 though.
