Sweet Ruin by Kresley Cole

I adore this book. I’ve reread it many times and it holds up on each reread. I think, even though it is book 15 in the series, it is a book you can start on. Since Jo, the FMC is new to the world, everything needs to be reexplained for her and makes the book accessible as a starting point in the series. (I read them in order, so I cannot confirm!)
The story is the perfect romance and with the added low fantasy/adventure stakes, it makes the book so readable. Rune and Josie have such a great connection and from their very first meeting you are rooting for them to be together. I love a fated mates trope and Kresley Cole is one of the best writers of this trope.
I highly recommend the audiobook, which is narrated so well. The rest of the series is great too, although it is a series that builds to better books. Also: if you like a podcast, you can listen to FatedMates Season One as they read along with each book.
