Are You Sleeping by Kathleen Barber

4.0

Josie and Lanie are twins who were home when their father was murdered back when they were teenagers. Lanie claimed to have seen the murderer and her testimony landed him in prison. Cut to years later when Josie has reinvented herself and put her past behind her, she hears everyone talking about the new podcast and she catches someone say her father's name. With a podcast looking into her father's murder, Josie has to confront the past head on whether she likes it or not and find out once and for all if her estranged sister was telling the truth all those years ago.

I really enjoyed the way this book was formatted mixed with storyline and then podcast transcripts. I will admit that I only just listened to the Serial podcast late this summer (I was living under a rock, okay?) and was thoroughly intrigued by it so this book was right up my alley. It was a very quick read for me filled with family drama and twists and turns. I will say I figured out the ending about halfway through, but enjoyed how it played out nonetheless. 3.5/5🌟
