This series keeps evolving in the best way possible. Whyborne and Griffin's love for each other is stronger than ever - strong enough to stand firmly without being an essential part of the plot, leaving more room for suspense, horror and action, which I love so much in Hawk's writing. Don't get me wrong, Hawk writes the best romance, but at this point I just wanted a different kind of action - and that's exactly what we got (plus some spice in the start for the romance fans). Friendship and family is also something the author writes masterfully.
The fast pace made me want to read the entire book in one sitting, and I definitely would if I had the time. I'm sad that I only have one book left of my favorite series ever, though.
