Accidental Attachment by Max Monroe

5.0

I loved this book. It charmed me from the start and I couldn't put it down. What an amazing new world that I am excited to explore with Max Monroe!

We have Chase and Brooke. The cutest, sweetest, most charming couple that I've read in a while.

Brooke is an author. She is the popular writer of the Shadow Brothers series, which has been picked up by Netflix to become a series. So many dreams have come true. The problem is that the new book that she's writing is complete crap, and it's due now. However, in her free time she's decided to write a steamy, sexy romance book with characters based on herself and her dream-boat editor that she's been lusting after since she first met him. And because life just turns out this way for her, in a drunken haze, she accidentally sends that book to her dreamy editor instead of the one that is due.

Chase is the ultimate book boyfriend. So incredibly charming and sweet, self-aware and extremely gorgeous. He reads the book and is one hundred percent for this new turn in Brooke's writing and sells the book to his boss, even if it's a 180 from her Shadow Brothers series.

The two find themselves in a situation where Brooke is touring the country for Netflix in a motor home and Chase is her drive/editor. They edit the book while traveling the country together. And as any rom-com does and should do, we watch these two slowly and all at once, fall in love with each other. The antics that these two go through is so fun and at times down right hilarious that I have to hold back my laughter when reading in public.

But the real hero of this book is BENJI! Benji is Brooke's German Shephard service dog and is a very good boy. The way that Benji is a very present character in this book and that you know can basically know what he's thinking and feeling from the writing is what I've always wanted in an animal character. I want a good boy like Benji in my life!

Add in the supporting characters of their families, Mo, Sammy, Vinny and even Brooke's parents, the book really feels so well rounded and so well-written. I love the quick glimpses of other Max Monroe characters (more please). Add in the preview of what the next book is going to be in this series and the extended epilogue and I can not wait to be in this world again!
