I liked "The Cellar" by Natasha Preston, but I found myself wishing it had delved deeper into character development. The book's premise is gripping, and it has moments of genuine tension, but the characters often felt underdeveloped. Many, like Summer/Lily, showed initial promise but lacked the depth and growth needed to make their stories truly impactful.

A more thorough exploration of their backgrounds, motivations, and personal struggles would have added significant emotional weight to the narrative. Understanding more about the characters’ lives before their abduction, and seeing how their experiences shaped them over time, could have made their fates more poignant and the overall story more compelling. Despite its flaws, the book held my interest, and I believe it could have been even more engaging with more development of characters it would’ve been more captivating.

As there were many moments during my read through where I just wasn’t enjoying reading. And often confused, as some chapters they would say this character is dead but then in the next they would be alive. So I wish they’d also be more clear in how the story progressed
