This started off really strong-- a quirky compilation of short mysteries/cases in Sicily! Definitely a bit hard to follow sometimes, with names and streets and frankly, an entire world I'm not quite familiar with. That being said, they got a bit tedious (
a random scorned lover emerges
). And then, forgetting I was reading a male author from the 70s and 80s, I was continually jarred by the random mentions of women's bodies and was literally shook by the auction (IYKYK)
