We Were Dreamers: An Immigrant Superhero Origin Story by Simu Liu

hopeful inspiring lighthearted reflective

4.0

The relationship between Simu Liu and his parents is very relatable to many Asian households, and I appreciated his honesty about the fraught differences between them growing up. Having no concept of the finance world, I didn’t realize that accountants are considered the bottom of the hierarchy. As much as I respect his hustle to make it as an actor in Hollywood, I kinda sensed that he was probably kind of annoying to be around growing up, especially in high school (no offense to him but I don’t think I’d get along with him).
