Analysis and Critique: How to Engage and Write about Anything by Dorsey Armstrong

4.0

I enjoyed this book. I listened to this book while also following along in an online pdf version of the notes. Professor Armstrong is very clear and easy to listen to, while not being overly scholarly in her presentation or vocabulary. The book has many chapters devoted to those that are writing school papers or other persuasive arguments (something to which I'm not currently engaged), but there was enough in the book about literature and writing in general to keep me interested. If you want "just the facts" then you might be fine with the online notes for this lecture series, as they do an adequate job of presenting the information. However, the audio series is excellent in that it produces quite a bit more anecdotes and examples, which really allow the material to sink in.
