The Overdue Life of Amy Byler by Kelly Harms

4.0

Not the kind of book I usually read, but kindle unlimited is a great excuse to broaden my horizons. Thoroughly enjoyed. I am not a mom, nowhere even close, so I had a very hard time related to Amy and the whole plot of this book. I wished there had been less mom flashbacks and drama and more actual plot. Aside from that this novel was like One to Watch but much more realistic and bookwormish.

I LOVED all of the book references, everything from Eleanor and Park to Jane Austen to JD Salinger. Talia and the fashion subplot were super cool as well, it was amazing to see a very inclusive and highly successful fashion environment and how that would work. Would highly recommend if you like Latin language puns. It wasn’t one of those books that I couldn’t put down; I had to work a bit to stay engaged. However, it was completely worth it.
