Did not finish book. Stopped at 63%.

The author could have handled FMC and her experience being bullied for being fat and fatphobia in general so much better. Instead she really continued underlying fatphobia and disordered eating themes in subtext while trying to push a body positive narrative and that doesn't work. The FMC had to lose weight to become desirable as an adult, and she's treated as too fat ie. ugly still but she's a size 10 which is a totally normal size for women. We're supposed to praise the MMC for loving her regardless of her size but he isn't doing anything special and hasn't helped her body dysphoria.
