The Quarry Girls by Jess Lourey

5.0

“In our neighborhood, the problem wasn’t the person who made the mistake; it was the person who acknowledged the truth.”

I’m unsure how The Quarry Girls ended up in my library, I assume via a daily deal but wow I am glad it did. The story follows the life of Heather Cash, a teen in a small town rife with shady characters and suspicious events that lead to the disappearance of Beth and two other central characters.

The people in power seem to disregard the current events until it seems like their activities may end up tangled in this very twisted web. Heather stands her own during this tale and since it was inspired by true events I felt my stomach churning at times, particularly with some of the reveals within.

I’m looking forward to reading more of the author’s work that’s certain.
