Did not finish book. Stopped at 50%.
Essentially, all the character building from the first book went out the window. The characters took all the lessons they learned from the first novel and started making some extremely out of character decisions for some kind of plot reasons. I tried to stick with it in case they realized they were making some big mistakes, but it was clear about halfway through that the characters I really liked from the first book were just not the same anymore. First time I have ever dropped a series which is a shame because the first novel was one of those books that stick in your head - but the drop off was too real.
