i saw the movie god knows how long ago and i remember loving it but i didn't remember much which is good because i got to read the book with 0 spoilers.
i loved it but i don't think i can say much without spoiling it. if you can watch it or read it knowing pretty much nothing about it do it.

SPOILERS

imagine being a 200 year old child. sounds boring, lonely and dangerous. that poor child had to live with a pedo because let's be real who else would help a 200 year old child get blood. also i heard some people say that he poured acid on himself because he didn't want the police to link him to Eli because he cared about their wellbeing.... bruh i think that he didn't want the police to find out that a convicted child molester *was he convicted i forgot whatever not important* had a random child in his house but okay sure that too.
we could sit here and talk about Eli and their gender identity but that would be a long ass conversation. also i feel like we all got something different from their portrayal in the book so who the fuck has the time for that. plus people *more qualified than me and u* have already made some really good analyses of their character.
it is a vampire story but it is also a coming of age story that touches upon themes of gender identity, bullying, pedophilia, loneliness etc. it is kinda heavy.
the fucking cats.... bro it was so ridiculous who let it happen.
