4 (very generous) stars for this one!

Obviously, my rating suggests that I enjoyed this book a lot. BUT I think that is mostly because I read this via audio. I think I wouldn't have enjoyed this the way I did if it weren't for the talented narrators who brought this story to life.

To be fair, up until the major conflict I was thinking that the story deserves a solid 4. For me, it delivered the right amount of sweetness and steam. However, when the climax hit, my story rating went down to a 3. The conflict was reasonable but it also came out of nowhere (I'm hoping I'm making sense here since I don't want to sound spoilery). I guess as a reader, I was looking for more depth in conflict and I was, unfortunately, let down.

As for our main characters, I personally believe they delivered in terms of chemistry. I loved seeing our heroine Frankie owning who she is and came off as a strong and inspirational woman. I loved how our hero Jay looked past Frankie's disability and saw her for the amazing woman that she is.  But to be honest though, despite how sweet his actions were, Jay felt a little lacking to me. I think he could have used a bit more depth and character growth as our hero

Overall, I really liked this first installment. I will definitely be picking up the next books in the series and checking out some more of this author's works!
