The Hour of the Star by Clarice Lispector

3.0

I loved her thoughts and insights into the writing process and related to her—perfectly described!—struggles of creating a character and breathing life into her creations. I loved those parts! The story, however, felt dated to me. Happy centennial to Clarice Lispector, a writer who never got the recognition she deserved; I hope releases like this will expose her poignant work to a broader audience.
