I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I saw a lot of negative reviews that probably lowered my expectations, but I hope that doesn't discourage anyone from reading this book.
This is mainly set in the past (book 1). However, there are a few chapters set in the present that move the book forward. All that said, the final chapter is where most of the forward-moving plot is. That final chapter packed a punch!! I wish there was just a bit more time spent on the "now" and not all the good stuff rushed to the last few pages.
I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers... I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!! But in true JLA fashion, we have to wait for the next book.
