This was a childhood favourite that I felt, 13-15 years later, I had to re-read. Boy, did it hold up.
Blackman is one of my favourite YA authors and I think will always remain a top tier childhood memory.
Being a bit older, I found Sephy a bit grating at times, but looking at the overall concept and message, I think it makes sense to highlight her ignorance at how society is and what her hopes/dreams are, how they conflict etc.
I'm really looking forward to re-reading the rest of this series!
