Black Sheep is another Rachel Harrison banger. Once again she uses a sharp, witty, female lead to explore complex issues of faith, family, trust, and identity. Whereas both Cackle and Such Sharp Teeth leaned heavily into more specific feminist elements (bodily autonomy, the witch as an analog for a strong independent woman) there is a more general theme to Harrison's examination of family and identity here.
