Well, it was... unique. I'm not sure how I feel about this book. One thing's for sure, I couldn't put it down, which I guess is a good sign. I started reading it without any particular expectations, and that was quite the experience. I absolutely loved Damen and hated Laurent... but in a good way? He's a cruel character yet so intriguing and fascinating, and you find yourself wanting to discover the secrets hidden behind his cold-blooded  composure. I also really enjoyed the setting, the palace... but the customs and traditions? Let's say they took me by surprise. The activities described were so unlikely and surreal that I either burst out laughing or was profoundly shocked. I think that's why I didn’t rate it a 5/5. I still devoured it from start to finish though.
