This book could not be less interesting. Sarah is trying very hard to be creepy and mysterious, but it comes off boring and repetitive. If i didn’t know her “mother was dying” and her “father built this house” after the first chapter i sure did by the last.

The characters are as slow and irredeemable as the story. The “house guest” believes in hauntings, so much so that his work is dependent on it. Yet, doesn’t believe they are the cause of his anguish?
Vera knows everything that has happened and has been going on at the house. But it never clicks until its right in front of her face. Even then she can barely piece it together.

Not worth your time unless you realllly love Sarah’s writing.
