Die for Me by Amy Plum

2.0

Die For Me intrigued me with its promise of a paranormal romance set in Paris.

All of the characters seemed underdeveloped, Kate, the main character was surface level, naive, and weak. Die For Me starts out with Kate recovering after the death of her parents, but I never felt the weight of her parents death. I thought it was a little odd that Kate mentioned school in the beginning, but then never mentions if she got friends there or if she was having a hard time adjusting.
Vincent, the love interest, kept saying how amazing Kate was and how he couldn’t live without her, but he never said what made her so great. The side characters were underdeveloped, there were three different boy characters, and I honestly can say that I could not tell the difference between the characters.

I did not feel that there was much substance to their relationship besides their infatuation for with one another. I also felt that Kate and Vincent fell in love unrealistically fast. But to Amy Plum’s credit, Vincent and Kate had their sexy moments that kept Die For Me worth reading.

A lot of the plot of Die For Me seemed to revolve around Kate and Vincent getting together. While I do enjoy a good romance.it got the point where most of the book was just the side characters urging the main characters to get together. I had never heard about revenants before reading Die For Me so it was interesting to learn of them in the book.

Overall Die For Me is not the first book I would recommend because it just did not bring much new to the table. I would recommend it for people who are fans of paranormal romances.
