The Magnificent Ambersons by Booth Tarkington

2.0

I almost didn't finish this. In the middle of it, I got distracted by a book on macroeconomics (riveting), which I tore through just to avoid this novel. I am trying to work my way through the Pulitzer winners because I thought it would be an interesting and entertaining self-study course, but this nearly bored me to tears. The end had some redeeming qualities, and I have to admit that the author's writing was at times beautiful. However, I can't say I would recommend this one.
