Maybe I should just stop trying to read contemporary romance. I feel like every time I get disappointed. Then again I’m not even sure if this is a romance? It’s really focused in mother-daughter relationship and I found it to be very weird and super reliant which is maybe normal for some people, but I found it off putting. I think Katy was an unlikeable character. Her choices were very selfish and I couldn’t see any good traits in her. The only likeable character is her husband Eric and
he’s barley even in the book
.
The romantic interest is also not someone I would ever remotely be interested in so maybe this book was just not written for me in the first place. Also,
I can’t believe the writer just allowed Katy to full on cheat on her husband and just get away with it and never tell her husband. I don’t care that it was in some weird alternate time traveling dimension because Katy did not know that and she thought it was present day reality. She cheated on her husband and that is just unforgivable
.
It’s cool that the hotel is a real place and the photos on google make it look very pretty so that’s a good thing for their business and that is the singular upside to this book.

Crying score: Why would I cry for her?
