“Promise not to be mad at me if I get us lost?” He stepped close and brushed a kiss against my forehead. “You get us lost. I’ll get us found.”
4.75 stars - Ugh this book was so good. I read a review where someone thought this was Indigo Ridge 2.0, but they couldn’t be more wrong. It has the same basic plot elements - cop, an Eden, and a crime, but it pans out completely different. The plot isn’t even close to similar. Devney Perry did such a great job with this one. It had everything that I felt Indigo Ridge was missing. The suspense was great. I had a guess on the plot twist, but I didn’t have all the details right. Lyla is such a gem of a human being. It’s a hate crime to be mean to her or hurt her feelings ever. I cried so much.
And Vance Sutter fucks. That’s it. That’s all you need to know.
P.S. - I am so excited for Mateo’s book. Unrequited love? I’m a sucker for it.
