Did not finish book. Stopped at 68%.
This book was hella long for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Especially because it lost its edge way too soon for me to continue reading, I had considered skimming it, but I honestly can’t be bothered to do that either.
Another problem I have is that I can’t imagine the dynamic falling into place in the last 30% of the book, it just doesn’t seem reasonable. Add that to the fact that Jack was just properly introduced in this book and the dynamic between him and Brooklyn is still not established.
These are some of my personal alarm bells going off which essentially lead to me not liking the book towards the end at all. It’s a shame because book 1 started out so well and I had high hopes for the plot and the pending developments regarding the dynamic between Brooklyn and the guys. Hopefully others had a better experience with this book than me.
