Unwanted by Marley Valentine

4.0

Marley Valentine has this amazing ability to pull you into deep and emotional stories that simultaneously break your heart and mend it. There is always this severity and level of emotion that sucks you in.

With Frankie and Arlo, we get two people who have grown up together and have always loved one another, but circumstances surrounding the way they parted ways four years ago has caused a major rift. Frankie hasn’t seen Arlo since he left him outside of a treatment center all those years ago. Now, Frankie has to come home to be there for his injured brother, Lennox. Seeing Arlo is inevitable. But the pain of their distance needs to be addressed.

This was powerful and full of emotion. Frankie and Arlo are two souls who gravitate toward one another, despite years of pain, drug abuse and distance. I loved their whole foster family. This is such a tight knit group and the way they all form this bond around one another is beautiful.

I also loved seeing some familiar faces from Valentine. Incorporating Jordan and Gael into this book made me so happy.
