If you had to read "If you give a Mouse a Cookie" or "If you give a Moose a Muffin" to your kid, you get the general idea of what this book is making fun of. The Puffin is self-aware, knows he is in a book, and wants nothing to do with it, and is frankly offended that you are even bothering to offer him something he absolutely doesn't want







Clever story that works even if you are not familiar with the "If you give a mouse a cookie", and is even more fun if you are. There is even reference to Herald and the Magic Crayon.
