Christmas Nights by J.H. Croix

This is yet another book in the very scenic Alaska village of Diamond Creek where the other books in this series are set. This book is Janie and Travis’ book.

Janie has some issues holding her back from being willing to let herself be loved by anyone. Although she has a lot of love to give and has adopted a teen age foster daughter. But she is afraid to get into a relationship and allow herself to be loved.

Travis is what you expect of an Alaskan born man - an avid outdoorsman and willing to do what is needed to survive in this northern clime. Travis is the one to pull Janie out of Kachemak Bay after a boat she is riding in starts to go down. And the sparks strike and Travis can’t seem to get Janie out of his mind.

The story between Janie and Travis is a well written and very believable. There are bumps and twists in their relationship as they move from getting to know each other to over coming not only Janie’s issues but some that Travis has as well.

My only compliant about this book is that Janie creates some wonderful sounding dishes in this book and I honestly wish that the recipes for them at the end of the novel. I am hoping to find a good recipe for the Alaska salmon pie that Janie makes in this story.

I did receive a copy of this book in advance in exchange for a fair, unbiased review. Not that I hadn't already planned to purchase this book since I like the series.
