FINALLY!! A coverbuy that actually had an interesting story! I am pleasantly surprised by this book! It’s about two “””friends””” (even though there is a clear power dynamic and one is a bitch) who live on an weird island with gods and two seas and do *bad things* and *oop* get caught so one of the two boys, Hank gets send to work for a doctor as punishment. When working he discovers a heart of a now dead god but them his “””friend”””” Jelt snatches it away. Bad stuff happens.

The story had a realy slow start and for a big part nothing really happened (just like Ninth House a bit) and you wonder what the plot it. I personally still liked the slow part of the story. I did dislike how slow Hanks character development was because Jelt is a shitty friends and Hank would keep coming back to him. But luckily more toward 2/3rds of the book the speed started to pick up and Hank finally realised that Jelt is a little bitch and befriends Quest and Selphin to go on an adventure! Yay! So was a bit annoyed at Hank and his choices in the first part of this book (he was a pussy) but it turned out well. Als Quest Hank and Selphin had strong found family vibes but that plot just wasn’t explored enough and their connection/relation not strong enough for it to actually be found family.

Also many many typos in this book!!!!
