This was a really good sequel. The stakes were higher and I enjoyed the development of her powers, her family ties, and also her will they/won't they relationship.
I think while the book ended on a high note, I do think that if she wanted to pick up the story years into the future and make it a tad bit darker she could and I would still read it.
I still recommend these books for those who enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean films and or looking for a more female focus. There is a good helping of magic, fun, romance, and adventure.
