Buffalo for the Broken Heart: Restoring Life to a Black Hills Ranch by Dan O'Brien

5.0

This book surprised me a bit in its range of information woven into what essentially is one's man's story of personal transformation. The history of the Great Plains and buffalo, a glimpse into the world of cattle and buffalo ranching, simple descriptions of the flora and fauna of one small part of the American Prairie and the story of a man struggling during a low point in his life and moving forward by finding something deeper - a purpose, a mission - to move his focus outside of himself.
The book was a page-turner of human goodness.
