Apartment 16 by Adam L.G. Nevill

2.0

I wanted SO much to like this book. I had to really push myself to get to page 150. When Seth saw the spider-looking lady and was brought up to Mr. and Mrs. Shaffer's room, I was completely turned off. Although, I do give Adam Nevill props on his descriptions; I was actually able to visually imagine what Seth was seeing in my head by his writing. He used the right words to make me cringe (some of the stuff described was absolutely disgusting).

I read some of the reviews for this book and was told all I needed to know. A building haunted by a painter who opened a portal to hell apartment 16 because he wanted to paint what he saw through hell. Then he was practically exiled from the building and now haunts it as an act of revenge. Cool concept. Poor execution. This was too "fantasy" for me. I tried.
