The Inquisition by Taran Matharu

5.0

Taran Matharu's second installment in the Summoner series blew me away. After reading The Novice, I was eager to pick this up, but I was definitely not prepared to enjoy this book as much as I did. Fletcher's journey in this book is non-stop, and he is constantly migrating from one location to another, getting things done more productively than Elon Musk after two cups of coffee. It was an impressive jump from The Novice in terms of pacing and depth. Each character is padded down with more layers and depth than the last book, and each villain has their own new little quirk. Fletcher's relationship with his friends and demons really goes to show just how far this group of summoners has come. It was a thrilling read, and encouraged me to purchase the sequel almost immediately. If you enjoyed the first book, I cannot stress enough how urgent it is for you to finish this one. Props to Taran Matharu for creating such a unique and inspired world that I have the favor of losing myself into for hours at a time.
